The Lost Dogs are heading down Route 66, "America's Mother Road," in mid-September, 2008, jumping off in Chicago and ending at the pier in Santa Monica, California. While visiting some of the most interesting places in America, their experiences will be captured in music and film. An emphasis will be placed on their various encounters and interviews with the uniquely fascinating people along Route 66. The end result will be an album and DVD that will be charming, whimsical, comedic, poignant, educational, and above all else, fun and entertaining.
You are probably thinking that Route 66 has been "done before," but this project is set apart by a bold difference. The Lost Dogs are seasoned travelers and musicians, hilarious by anyone's standards and friendly as all get-out. This project will be nothing without you and to make it happen we need your active participation. Above all, the Dogs are excited about connecting with you and wish to spend time with you personally so your very own very special .stories.can be shared in song with the rest of the world.
The Lost Dogs would like to perform impromptu concerts on street corners, at historical diners and hotel/motel sights, tourist attractions, and campgrounds, and would love to sit down and chat with you over a picnic lunch or some ice cream.
If you live along the route, we would like to let you know when The Lost Dogs will be in your area and schedule a special time to meet with you personally, and anybody else you can round up, so they can learn about your history, both personal and community, and get a "feel" for your spot on the map.
In true Lost Dogs style, they are offering fans several unusual opportunities to participate in the experience with them. A GPS unit, provided by BrickHouse Security, will allow fans to go online and watch the band's every move in real-time or even get in their cars, come out and travel along for a few miles. Video blogs will be posted so fans can watch as their experiences are transformed into a musical narrative of the Mother Road.
Fans will also be afforded the chance to get involved with several tour support opportunities, from donating money to have their names included in the credit roll of the DVD, to purchasing items from the tour including the Waterstone guitars the band will use while on the road. The tour will end with a beach party at the Santa Monica pier, where the band will share new songs and clips from the road.
Come join the Dogs lost on Route 66 as the journey becomes the music.
